I was at the museum several years ago and I plan to attend the big event in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area this June10-12,2010. Didn't know about this until I went to the Judy Garland Concert at our Orchestra Hall here in Mpls.If one gets a chance to see this wonderfull digital film of Judy accompanied by a live orchestra, I highly recommend it, I believe its on a tour.........Judy gave alot to her fans. Every note she sang came from her heart....she made you feel it. The museum here in Minnesota has done it well. It stands as not only a memorial to a gifted artist , but a loving tribute to a woman that excelled in all facets of talent. She packed a lifetime in to a short amount of years. Thanks Judy for giving us so much. Always your fan, C.

I always loved Judy Garland. This is the first time I have been on this website. I never knew she was less than 5 feet tall. She always looked so tall to me in the movies.

Today I watched a film in relation to the life of Judy Garland. It evocated interest. I was born in 1964, and have had the privilege of being entertained by her wonderful musical films, the likes of which we may never see again in these times. My favorites are the ones in wich Mickey Rooney also appears. What a formidable team both he and Judy made.
Our 10 & 11 year old children become really excited when they hear "The Wizard of Oz" is to be shown. Ironically, the witch resembles one of the children's previous primary school teachers (ha). Thanks for the beautifully unique & entertaining memories, which will live on as a great legacy and quality of film.
Kind regards Yasmin
THE WIZARD OF OZ WAS SO FAR AHEAD OF ITSELF AND SUCH A WONDERFUL MOVIE FOR AS LONG AS A I LIVE IT WILL WITH A FEW OTHER MOVIES BE MY FAVORITE. SUCH A WONDERFUL CAST.
Hi, I'm Ingrid from Norway.
I have loved the Wizard of Oz since I was a kid. I have loved Judy since then. Oz is one of my favorites, where I love all the characters. Meet me in St. Louis is my second favorite.
After I looked on this page I found out that this museum I have to see sometime. Her home, and things from the movies... As a fan I really have to see this! It's one of my dreams. But I don't know when I finally can visit.
Judy was a beautiful lady, and what she went through is just so sad...
I hope the museum goes well.
Greeting from Norway and from a big fan!

I have absolutely adored Judy since I was a tot and I still adore her now. I recently visited her unit at Ferncliff Cemetery and I must admit, I was disappointed because I truly believe that she deserves more recognition.
On a happier note, I plan to visit Grand Rapids this year just to see the museum & attend the Judy Garland Festival!! (I have to save some money first )
Greetings to all my fellow Judy fans!!
Just wanted to drop in and say what a wonderful tribute to Judy Garland this museum is!!
I have always loved Judy. From Oz, to A Star is Born.. I love watching her. I wish I could have had the chance to meet her, she is truly my icon.

My boss had recently acquired a brass door knocker that was given as a present to him by Judy Garland many years ago. He was the prop master in Hollywood many years ago. It is of a man and woman kissing, and when you lift the man's head and knock, he kisses the woman.
Judy Garland was Awesome! I have watched the WIZARD OF OZ for over 20 years now and today still watch it as it's my first time. I really enjoyed this weekend(11/09)on TBS Stations.
In my parents living room, at the age of one, I sat through the whole entire movie of "The Wizard of Oz" on my Uncle's lap. I am now 36-years-old and have been singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" ever since then. Judy is the best entertainer I have ever had the privilege of seeing thanks to her great musicals/movies, and TV shows. Her voice was a gift from God. She could also dance and act brilliantly.
Judy's life story makes my heart ache. She had to grow up so fast that she missed out on just being a kid. She was a beautiful woman, and didn't get a lot of credit for that. Many entertainers during her time have said she had the best sense of humor, and I wish we all could have seen more of that. She was a "product" of MGM, and was worked too hard, causing emotional problems, then leading to drug problems.
Thankfully, we can still hear her sing, watch her dance and act in movies and on CD's. That will never die and will always bring a smile to my heart. Judy made me find my own singing voice as a little girl and I have been singing ever since. I hope Judy somehow know this, maybe somewhere over the rainbow. God Bless.
A Very Special Thanks to Judy Garland for making my life so much more enjoyable listening to her sing and act.
I have been a musician and voice critic for at least 40 of my 53 years and there is no one that comes close to Judy. Her God given talent and beautiful personality, even through her troubles, is a miracle to behold. Thank you also Liza, Lorna and Joe for your dedication and love for your mother.
One day I hope to visit Grand Rapids, MN. and be around so many others who appreciate Judy and her legacy as much as I. I only wish I could sing like her (right)!
Thanks again and best wishes to all of you. God Bless you all.
My g,g,g,g, grandfather is the Rev. Henry Hartwell Marable. He is also Judy's g,g,g grandfather. Guess that makes us blood relatives. All Judy's family on her father's side (Frank Avent Gumm) is from Rutherford County, TN. Hope Judy got to visit Rutherford County during her life but don't know for sure.
Wonderfull preformer, we are doing our family tree, and surprise surprise looks like Judy's mum and my great grandmother are related, odd in fact as all my family are
musical, Judy was only tiny 4ft 11, I am only tiny too 4ft 8 1/2!
